Are you planning a trip to the cinema this half term? There are a few big new releases you might like to check out, including Ron’s Gone Wrong and The Boss Baby 2, as well as James Bond for older children. Many cinemas will also be showing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary, giving youngsters their first chance to see the classic film on the big screen.

Plus, here in Cardiff, there are several drive-in cinemas running over half term and Halloween plus spooky films being shown at Cardiff Castle. Everyman Cinema in Mermaid Quay is offering special screenings of How To Train Your Dragon to celebrate the arrival in Cardiff of the UK’s largest animatronic dragon. It’s also worth knowing that many of the bigger chains offer cheaper early morning screenings of slightly older films at around £2-£3 per person at weekends and during local school holidays.
