First day of term interview

Family life
Back to school interview

Last year, when I took Little Miss E to buy her school shoes for reception, she was given a book from Clarks to fill in to celebrate her start at school. I remember thinking at the time how nice it would be to ask similar questions at the beginning of every academic year – for her to express her views on how she’s feeling and to see how she changes from year to year. And so, I came up with this first day of term interview to be completed every September.

Part of me thought it was a bit daft, but I mentioned it to a few of my mummy friends and they loved the idea and told me to share it here. So, here you go! You can see it below, but it’s also attached as a downloadable PDF here – Cardiff Mummy Says First Day of Term Interview – so you can easily print it out for your little ones to complete (with your help, if needed!). Or feel free to use the idea to create your own back to school interview with questions that are better suited to your child. I hope you like it!

Aw, I hope so. I’m a bit of a softie for memory keepsakes, so I hope my children appreciate them all too! x

  1. This is such a lovely idea, it would be nice to keep it with a photo of them on their first day of school. I love things like this to look back on, I’m making a scrapbook for Aria and this is the type of thing that I would include in it, not just yet obviously but when she is older!
