Every month, I collate the best of my month on the Cardiff Mummy Says Instagram feed here on my blog. It took me a while to get the hang of Instagram, but it’s now one of my favourite social networks, inspiring me every day with the beautiful photos and sense of community.

This month, we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy two breaks in other beautiful parts of Wales. We spent the beautifully sunny half term in a caravan in Borth and Ynys Las and the Father’s Day weekend in Tintern with a couple of excursions to the Forest of Dean.

Back in Cardiff, we’ve had lovely trips to Dyffryn Gardens, and our wet weather favourites, Cardiff Central Library and National Museum Cardiff to see their new exhibition, Wriggle – The Wonderful World of Worms.

I’ve gained around 350 new Instagram followers in June (thank you all!), and have been so excited to see my images featured in some of the Insta communities I take part in, such as #lovelifeoutside #explorerkids #familytravelmoments #igerscardiff and #worldoflittles

This means so much to me because my photos were so rubbish just a few short months ago and I’ve been working really hard to improve my photography skills. I still have a lot to learn but I’m starting to get there.

Here’s the best of my photos from June.

Instagram highlights

First row – sunset at Borth beach; watching the red kits at Bwlch Nant yr Arian near Aberystwyth; sunset again at Borth beach; exploring Ynys Las sand dunes and nature reserve.

Second row  overlooking the lake at Bwlch Nant yr Arian; walking across Ynys Las beach; one of the reservoirs in the Elan Valley; the lake at Llanerchaeron near Aberaeron.

Third row – toddler exploring Dyffryn Gardens; the climbing frame at Mountain View Ranch; books galore at Cardiff Central Library; the door at National Museum Cardiff.

Bottom row – outside Tintern Abbey cottage; Puzzlewood ancient forest; inside Tintern Abbey; blue skies busting through the window frames at Tintern Abbey.

My personal favourite photo this month is this one, showing Cardiff Daddy and our three children at the beach in Borth on the first night of our holiday. It was such a beautiful and warm evening, moments later, the kids were in the water swimming in their clothes. “The best holiday ever” apparently.
