WIN a family ticket for Disney’s High School Musical On Stage at Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival 2022
Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival is an absolute highlight for us every summer. And after two years of not being able to go ahead due to the pandemic, the event is back and currently in full swing.
This summer’s programme has already seen Blackadder Goes Forth and Twelfth Night take to the stage at Sophia Gardens, with Little Shop of Horrors still to come. Plus, for families, Disney’s High School Musical On Stage opens this Saturday 23 July and runs until Saturday 30 July.
Performed by And Go Theatre, the show follows years of successful family productions at the festival, including Beauty and the Beast Jnr, The Little Mermaid Jnr, Peter Pan Jnr, and lots more.
Disney’s High School Musical On Stage is a specially-abridged version of the much-loved Disney film, running at just over an hour in length and performed by a cast of talented young people.
Read on to find out how you and your family could be there for free, with this fantastic giveaway from Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival.
As fans of the 2006 film will know, High School Musical is set in East High where Troy Bolton, captain of the school’s basketball team, and Gabriella Montez, an academically-gifted transfer student, try out for lead parts in their school musical, causing division among the school’s cliques. The students deal with first loves, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra-curricular activities. The soundtrack includes catchy upbeat numbers including Get’Cha Head In The Game, Breaking Free and We’re All In This Together.
Go Theatre will be performing Disney’s High School Musical On Stage at Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival as follows:
Saturday 23 July, 10.30am and 12.30pm
Sunday 24 July, 12pm and 2.30pm
Tuesday 26 -Friday 29 July, 12pm and 2.30pm
Saturday 30 July, 10.30am and 12.30pm
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £10 per person or £36 for a family ticket, which admits four.
Audiences will sit undercover in a specially-built auditorium, but the cast are out in the elements and if it rains, the show must go on!
