From Home Alone and Elf to Love Actually and Die Hard, the cinemas of Cardiff have a brilliant selection of classic Christmas films coming to the big screen this festive season. 

Whether it’s one you’ve never seen before, or a favourite you watch every year but have never seen on the big screen, a family Christmas cinema treat is a lovely festive experience, and some of them cost £2 or less per person.

The independent Cardiff cinema will be showing The Muppet Christmas Carol and It’s A Wonderful Life this Christmas. Adults £9, children £7.

Festive favourites including Elf, Home Alone, Gremlins and The Muppet Christmas Carol in the atmospheric castle undercroft. Adults 16 + £12.50, children 2-15 £7.50.

National Museum Cardiff 

It’s A Wonderful Life, Saturday 13 December, 2pm and 7pm, £12 per person 

A vintage style cinema experience with a pre-show performance from Kitsch & Sync Collective’s usherettes’; a silent ‘short’ with live piano accompaniment, popcorn, confectionery and beverages from the pop-up bar and shop.
