BritMums Live 2015 – in pictures
I’ve already written about 36 of the best blogging tips I learned at BritMums Live. But now, I’m focussing on some of the amazing people I met at my very first blogging conference, and sharing a few photos of what we got up to. I never thought I would be the kind of person to have online friends I’ve never met in real life – but it turns out I do, and they are some of the loveliest, friendliest and most inspiring people (because I have actually met them now!). Here are a few of my favourite photos from the weekend.
Here I am (second from the left) on the 9.55am train from Cardiff to London Paddington with fellow South Wales bloggers Kaz who blogs at Ickle Pickle’s Life and Travel; Jess from Mrs Helicopter Writes; and Linda from Mother Distracted. I’ve met these three lovely ladies in the real world before, but it was good to have a chance to chat to them properly and get to know them better. We were joined at Bristol Parkway by Emily from Tea Lady Mumbles and Jane from Practically Perfect Mums.
Here I am at the underground station at Paddington. It was such fun travelling as a gang of six across London, although we did get a little confused trying to get from the station at Moorgate to our hotels.
This is me meeting TV stars, The Twirlywoos. I even got to keep my headband!
Tim from Slouching Towards Thatcham was one of the bloggers I was most keen to meet, as I love reading about his life as a dad of three. There were only 11 dad bloggers at BritMums, so he was very easy to spot!
I can also now say I am a Guinness World Record holder! We at BritMums set a new world record for the most mummies wrapped in three minutes. At one point, my whole face and head was covered in loo roll and I couldn’t see a thing!
This is me with Deliciously Ella, one of the key note speakers and a big inspiration of mine. I don’t think she was excited to meet me as I was to meet her, though!
And I also met Emma from Brummy Mummy of Two, whose blog is brilliantly funny and always makes me laugh.
After the conference came the Brilliance In Blogging award ceremony, and after that a group of 12 of us headed to Nando’s Lime Street, who were hosting us for the evening – thanks to the lovely Martyn from Inside Martyn’s Thoughts who organised everything. I’d been chatting to this group of bloggers for a while on social media, so it was lovely to meet them all. This was my first Nando’s experience. It might sound like a bit of an odd place for a healthy eating vegetarian to go, but I was quite impressed with the dishes they had on offer.
This is the start of the second day – from left to right, Zena from Zena’s Suitcase, Kaz, Emily from Twin Mummy and Daddy (another Cardiff blogger), Kirsty from Something Crunchy Mummy, and me. And no, we didn’t deliberately arrange ourselves in height order!
This is me and Lucy from Capture By Lucy. Her session on defining your design inspired me so much – you can read some of her top blogging tips on this post. Taking this photo was quite funny. She’s so much taller than me (which is not hard really!), and while I was on tip toes, she was crouching.
We were shattered getting the train home to Cardiff after such an intense couple of days. Here I am with Emily, Kaz and Kirsty at Paddington Station…
… and here I am – feeling as tired as I look – with Paddington himself.
Thanks for an amazing weekend, Britmums Live 2015. I’m looking forward to next year already.
