The ultimate sleepover for dinosaur fans at National Museum Cardiff

Paid partnership with National Museum Cardiff
A sleepover at National Museum Cardiff is the ultimate experience for dino fans, with an evening of prehistoric-themed activities and the chance to sleep right next to a giant mammoth!
Museum Sleepover: Dinos returns on Saturday 7-Sunday 8 March, with visitors discovering what goes on after dark in the museum.
My children and I did this a few years ago and it was absolutely brilliant – a one-of-a-kind experience that none of us will ever forget.

You’ll get to take a torch-lit tour to explore Wales as it was 200 million years ago; say hello to some prehistoric pals in a dino show; and get creative in a craft workshop inspired by fossils, footprints and bones.
Then it’s time for a dino-themed family film in the historic Reardon Smith theatre, before rolling out your sleeping bag right next to Tom Bones, the museum’s 3D-printed replica skeleton of a mammoth, and camping under the Museum’s iconic dome. The morning will see breakfast followed by a family yoga class.
The event is perfect for children aged six to twelve. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Museum Sleepover: Dinos takes place at National Museum Cardiff on Saturday 7 to Sunday 8 March 2026. Tickets cost from £75 per person. Book online here.
